An Iraqi Airways Boeing 787-8, registration YI-ATC performing flight IA-473 from Baghdad (Irak) to Guangzhou (China), was enroute at FL370 over Basra (Irak) when the crew decided to divert to Basra due to a problem with the cabin doors. The aircraft landed safely on Basra's runway 32 about 35 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2 hours, then continued to Guangzhou arriving there with a delay of about 3 hours. The aircraft is still on the ground in Guangzhou about 20 hours after landing.

Passengers reported there had been some issues with one of the cabin doors, no announcement was made however.
